Unbeknownst to most, Apple sells Apple-certified refurbished products!
at great discounts. I’ve purchased Ipods and Ibooks as refurbished items with great success. The biggest difference between refurb items and new items is the packaging. Usually the packaging on refurbished items is plain, brown box style. Then again, after that initial opening, how often do you really see your packaging again? If you’re giving the item as a gift, its good to know because sometimes REFURBISHED is printed on the packaging.

Apple tests and certifies all refurbished products and provides a 1 year warranty as well. Great deal!

When the Macbook Air was announced at the 2008 Apple Keynote address, I was just about as intrigued as when Jobs announced the IPhone
last year. Measuring 0.16-inches at its thinnest point (and 0.76 inches thick overall), yes that’s UNDER AN INCH THICK, this is the type of laptop that’s easy to transport just about anywhere you go. Apple also introduced its multi-touch technology, found on the iPhone, to MacBook Air, enabling you to pinch, swipe, or rotate to zoom in on text, advance through a photo album, or adjust an image via the oversized trackpad. Using these features on my Iphone has really revolutionized the way I interact with technology. I find myself pinching and swiping conventional computer screens, GPS units, etc. Its such a natural, innate way to navigate, anything less seems almost primitive.

Just because MacBook Air is thin doesn’t mean its lacking in the features department. It includes a 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display, full-size and backlit keyboard, and built-in iSight video camera for video conferencing. The MacBook Air is powered by a custom-built 1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and includes 2 GB of RAM, an 80 GB hard disk drive, Wi-Fi connectivity via 802.11a/b/g/n standards, a micro-DVI video output (with included adapters), and up to a 5-hour battery life.

It comes pre-loaded with Apple’s Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard operating system, which adds over 300 new features including easy backup of your most important data via Time Machine, a redesigned desktop that helps eliminate clutter, and the newest version of the fast-loading Safari web browser. It also comes with the iLife ’08 suite of applications, including iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband, and iTunes.
